Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Home Minister Bima Arya Sugiarto announced on Wednesday that the inauguration of 270 regional heads elected in the 2024 Local Elections is scheduled for February 6, 2025.

Sugiarto stated at the Presidential Palace complex that the inauguration, conducted in accordance with Article 164B of Law No. 10 of 2016, which permits simultaneous inaugurations of regional heads, will be organized in three batches.

He elaborated that the first batch, consisting of 270 elected local heads whose electoral victories are uncontested in the Constitutional Court, will be inaugurated on February 6.

He also noted that Jakarta's newly elected governor and vice governor, Pramono Anung and Rano Karno, will also be inaugurated on the same date.

The second batch is designated for regional heads whose electoral victories are confirmed by the court following the dismissal of disputes filed by their opponents.

"The third batch will include regional heads elected in repeat elections ordered by the court in cases where disputes were upheld," Sugiarto explained.

He stated that the schedule for the subsequent batches will depend on the resolution of electoral dispute cases in the Constitutional Court.

The deputy minister also mentioned that President Prabowo Subianto was informed during a cabinet meeting on Wednesday about the date for the first inauguration ceremony, which was agreed upon by the ministry and parliament.

"The president responded positively to the information, and the date has also received unanimous approval from parliament," he added.
