She informed that a total of 9,787,252 sticks were seized, which could have potentially caused a revenue loss of Rp9 billion (USD534 thousand).
"There were also 475,644 illegal cigarettes settled using administrative sanctions with a value of Rp1 billion (USD60 thousand)," she disclosed.
In addition, her party handled narcotics and illegal drugs consisting of 427 grams of marijuana, 5.36 grams of gorilla tobacco, 14,960 trihexyphenidyl pills, 1,102 tramadol pills, 7 thousand clonazepam pills, 220 alprazolam pills, and 10 thousand Y pills/cow pills in 2024.
According to Yulianty, the Surakarta Customs also destroyed illegal excise goods seized during operations in 2024. They included 3.02 million cigarettes and 246 liters of liquor containing ethyl alcohol, which could have caused a potential loss of Rp2.76 billion (USD160 thousand), she added.
"This is the result of independent actions by Surakarta Customs and cooperation in joint operations with Public Order Security Agency (Satpol PP) and other law enforcement officers," she said.
She informed that Surakarta Customs managed to record a revenue of Rp2.60 trillion (USD154 thousand), exceeding the target of Rp2.58 trillion (USD253 thousand).
With this revenue, her party managed to realize 100.79 percent of the target set.
"We strive to provide the best service, especially for the people in our area," she said.
The Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance has outlined five characteristics of illegal cigarettes or tobacco.
They comprise plain cigarette packaging without excise stamps, cigarette packaging with fake excise stamps, cigarette packaging with used excise stamps, cigarette packaging with excise stamps for the wrong purpose, and cigarette packaging with incorrect personalization excise stamps.
