Bekasi, West Java (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has produced 10,000 digital talents to meet industrial needs within its first 100 working days, aligning with efforts to accelerate the national digital transformation.

Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Angga Raka Prabowo stated that these digital talents were developed to support the future prosperity of the Indonesian people.

"In three months, we were able to produce 10,000 digital talents. However, we are also focusing on quality, not just quantity," he said at the Cikarang Digital Talent Center in West Java on Friday.

Angga added that developing digital talents is an essential and inseparable part of efforts to ensure the success of government programs, such as free nutritious meals, food self-sufficiency, energy self-sufficiency, and downstreaming.

He emphasized that digital talents are the driving force behind technology and have the potential to ensure the success of these programs.

"For instance, the use of artificial intelligence to measure energy needs or the development of business registration applications for downstreaming requires expertise from Indonesian digital talents," he explained.

Moreover, expediting the creation of digital talents has become an urgent necessity.

According to the ministry's Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM), Indonesia is predicted to need 9 million digital talents by 2030. However, only 6 million digital talents are expected to be produced through formal education.

To address this gap, other mechanisms for accelerating the growth of digital talents are necessary, including collaborations with stakeholders from the government, industry, and community groups.

Angga affirmed that his ministry will not stop at the 100-day mark in its efforts to create digital talents, which will continue through future programs.

The initiatives include preparing the 2025 Digital Talent Scholarship (DTS) program, which aims to produce 100,000 digital talents across seven academies, including the Digital Entrepreneurship Academy (DEA) and the Vocational School Graduate Academy (VSGA).
