In the ministry's written statement received here on Friday, Patria highlighted that available data, such as the Developing Village Index (IDM), plays a significant role in addressing poverty, as it helps the government formulate suitable development policy interventions.
"The IDM data provides guidance for development policy interventions from the central, provincial, district/city, and village government, and involves community participation to assess village progress and independence," he remarked on Thursday (January 30).
Patria made this statement while attending a ministry-level coordination meeting at the Ministry of Social Empowerment.
According to the deputy minister, the IDM also provides essential data and information for village development.
Patria highlighted that there is a wealth of data available for planning village development, stressing the need for village assistants and officials to manage this information effectively to identify priorities in development.
In addition, he stated that this approach is beneficial for prudently managing natural resources and implementing development programs aimed at enhancing community welfare, such as through village funds.
"IDM reflects the progress of village independence based on the Village Law implementation, supported by village funds and assistants. This aligns with Ministerial Regulation No. 2 of 2016 regarding IDM," he remarked.
Furthermore, he said that the data could serve as a reference for various stakeholders to work together to develop villages.
The data can help in the execution of village programs carried out by various parties, prevent policy overlap, and ensure equitable development across all villages in Indonesia.
