The plane carrying President Erdogan and his entourage landed in the Indonesian capital around 6:30 p.m. local time.
Despite the heavy downpour, the welcome ceremony proceeded as planned. Dressed in a black suit and a black peci hat, Prabowo waited for Erdogan and the First Lady as they walked down the plane's steps.
The two leaders then shook hands, demonstrating their close bond.
Using two umbrellas, Prabowo, Erdogan, and the First Lady walked past the honor guards and climbed into a designated official car. The Indonesian leader sat beside the Turkish President in the vehicle.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sugiono, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya accompanied President Prabowo during the welcome ceremony.
