Bogor District, West Java (ANTARA) - The Gerindra Party has agreed to advocate for President Prabowo Subianto to seek re-election in the 2029 presidential race, according to the party's Secretary-General, Ahmad Muzani.

"All cadres of the Gerindra Party are eager to push for Mr. Prabowo Subianto’s nomination in the 2029 presidential election, supporting his bid for a second term as President of the Republic of Indonesia," said Muzani, who also serves as Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR).

He made this statement during a speech at an event marking the party’s 17th anniversary in Bogor District, West Java, on Saturday.

Muzani emphasized that all Gerindra cadres, both at the central and regional levels, are committed to achieving this electoral goal.

"Everyone is ready to ensure success in the 2029 presidential election," he affirmed.

He also used his speech to call on the Indonesian public for prayers and support, emphasizing the party’s commitment to serving the nation’s interests.

"We ask for the prayers and support of all Indonesian citizens in our struggles ahead," Muzani stated.

The Gerindra Party celebrated its 17th anniversary at the Sentul International Convention Center in Bogor.

The event was attended by Prabowo, the party's chairman, along with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, former President Joko Widodo, ministers, and several political party leaders.
