Nusantara (ANTARA) - The football training center being developed in Indonesia's new capital Nusantara (IKN) in East Kalimantan province has been made available for the national football team, the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has said.

"The Nusantara City Training Center of the PSSI is operational for use by the national team following the completion of the first stage of its development," PSSI's director of security and infrastructure, Adi Nugroho, said in Nusantara on Saturday.

He informed that the training center has four dormitories and three fields, one of which is composed of quality natural grass.

"The three fields are also available for evening training sessions, supported by 800-lux lighting," he added.

Nugroho said that the natural turf is made of mattrela zoysia grass, in keeping with the standards set by the International Football Association (FIFA).

Elaborating on the second stage of the development, he disclosed that it will focus on the construction of a mini stadium with five thousand seats, an indoor field, and a swimming pool.
