Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka conducted on-site evaluations of the implementation of the free nutritious meal (MBG) program in two public schools in Ciracas Sub-district, East Jakarta, on Wednesday.

According to a press release here on Wednesday, the VP visited several schools to assess the MBG program to ensure that all meals provided to students offered balanced nutrition and were safe for consumption.

Students at the junior high school SMPN 174 and high school SMAN 58 Jakarta warmly welcomed VP Gibran, engaging in direct conversations with him as they ate the free healthy lunch provided under the flagship program of President Prabowo Subianto's government.

The interaction was cordial, with the VP taking time to pose for photographs with the students.

Accompanied by the Principal of SMPN 174 Jakarta, Mujiningsih, VP Gibran observed the lunch menu, which featured rice, fried chicken, stewed tofu, greens, salak fruit, and a carton of milk.

Meanwhile, at SMAN 58 Jakarta, the menu served consisted of rice, chicken katsu, tofu, chickpeas, and bananas.

To maintain the quality of the MBG program, VP Gibran instructed schools and meal providers to regularly monitor the distribution and serving procedures on a daily basis, a measure intended to ensure the quality of every meal provided to students.

In addition to guaranteeing nutritional content, he also stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness throughout all stages of the MBG preparation, from the selection of ingredients to the serving of food to students.

VP Gibran also emphasized the need for every process to adhere to food hygiene and safety standards, ensuring that the food consumed is not only nutritious but also safe and hygienic.

Furthermore, he advised that students should avoid wasting the food served. If they are unable to finish their meal, they should be allowed to take the remaining food home.
