Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Social Affairs has distributed a number of aid items worth Rp249 million (US$15,269) to people affected by flood in Dayeuhkolot District, Bandung Regency, West Java.

"The Ministry of Social Affairs has sent logistics to affected residents," the ministry’s acting director of social protection for natural disaster victims, Masryani Mansyur, said in her statement on Sunday.

Based on the assessment carried out by the ministry, she continued, the central government helped evacuate victims to a safer place and set up refugee tents.

The aid delivered to the flood victims includes 1,000 ready-to-eat food packages, 400 children's food packages, 100 family kit packages and 60 kidsware.

The Ministry of Social Affairs also distributed 52 children's clothing packages, 100 blankets, 100 mattresses and 50 roll-up tents.

“They will be sent from the ministry’s technical implementation unit in Bandung to some locations affected by flood,” she said.

The affected areas include Dayeuhkolot Village, Citereup Village and Cangkuang Wetan Village in Dayeuhkolot District.

Due to flood triggered by high rainfall intensity, 486 people took refuge in the local mosque and community hall.
