The tourism promotion mission was carried out through Indonesia's participation in the world's largest tourism exchange, the Internationale Tourismus-Börse (ITB) Berlin 2025.
Besides introducing Indonesian tourism, Wardhana also explored opportunities for cooperation through bilateral meetings with several counterparts, such as the candidate for Secretary-General of UN Tourism for the 2026-2029 period from Mexico, Gloria Guevara; representatives of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany, Dieter Janecek and Dr. Marion Weber; and Secretary-General of UN Tourism 2018-2025 from Georgia, Zurab Pololikashvili.
In the bilateral meeting, the minister outlined her five flagship programs namely the Clean Tourism Movement; Tourism 5.0 through AI and Digitalization; Upgrading Tourism through gastronomy, marine, and wellness tourism; Event organizing with Original Indonesian Intellectual Property (IP); and Tourism Villages.
"I am optimistic this collaboration can encourage tourism's contribution to Indonesia's economic growth," she remarked in a press statement on Sunday.
During the working visit, Wardhana also went to several Indonesian restaurants, namely "Makan Enak" which serves various authentic menus with typical Indonesian flavors, and "Nua Rasa Café" which offers various choices of Indonesian specialty coffee.
She then discussed with the cafe owner regarding efforts to increase the popularity of Indonesian coffee in Berlin.
Her visit to the two restaurants is in line with the government program, namely "Indonesia Spice Up The World" with the main mission to develop and support the expansion of Indonesian restaurants abroad, in order to increase exports of processed Indonesian food and spices to become more popular abroad.
"I hope these restaurants and cafes will become more popular abroad. This can be an inspiration for other Indonesian diaspora to open Indonesian restaurants, as our representatives in promoting Indonesian culture and tourism," she stated.
