Komdigi Ministry's Director General of Digital Space Supervision, Alexander Sabar, credited the Indonesian public for this achievement, saying that citizens have been actively submitting reports of inappropriate digital content through the aduankonten.id portal.
"Each report we receive has enabled us to act more swiftly and effectively in cracking down on negative content," he noted in the ministry’s release, as cited in Jakarta on Monday.
Sabar revealed that his team had handled 233,552 pieces of pornographic content, with 219,578 found on websites and 10,173 on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
For online gambling-related content, he stated that the ministry had blocked access to 1,118,849 items. Most of these, or 1,017,274 items, were found on websites and IP addresses, while 46,207 were detected on Facebook and Instagram.
"These figures indicate that websites and social media platforms remain the main sources of negative digital content that we are working to handle," he remarked.
The director general then emphasized that his team plans to leverage artificial intelligence to strengthen its surveillance system in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of digital content monitoring.
"We will continue cooperating with various parties, including technology platforms, to enhance our ability to quickly respond to public reports and ensure a safer digital space," he stated.
He also encouraged the public to continue contributing to this effort by reporting negative content to aduankonten.id.
This reporting portal is accessible to the public and requires users to provide links or screenshots of the digital items they wish to report. A team from the Komdigi Ministry will then verify and follow up on the submissions.
