The Palestinian envoy, who is also the top Islamic law judge at the Palestinian Authority, stated that President Abbas wrote the message to celebrate Indonesia and Palestine's long-standing bond and highlight the impact of Israel's aggression.
"Today, we had the honor of visiting the President of Indonesia. We sent a special message from the President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, to the Indonesian President," Al-Habbash told the media after the meeting, which took place in Jakarta and lasted about an hour.
He added that he also briefed President Prabowo on the ground situation in Palestine and extended appreciation to Indonesia for striving to protect the rights of Palestinians during the meeting, which was also attended by the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, Zuhair Al-Shun.
The Palestinian judge lauded Indonesia for its perseverance in advocating for the independence of the Palestinian people amid global uncertainties.
He also spoke highly of President Prabowo, expressing optimism that the head of state will ensure Indonesia remains steadfast in its commitment to playing a strategic role in the Palestinian cause.
"We are convinced that the Indonesian government will continue backing Palestine in its struggle for freedom and independence," he said.
The day before, Al-Habbash met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, who assured him that Indonesia rejects all attempts to alter Palestine's demographics and remains committed to pursuing the two-state solution to resolve the Israel-Palestine conflict.
During his visit, the Palestinian official conveyed his appreciation to the Indonesian government and people for the humanitarian assistance they provided to the Gaza Strip.
