Brebes, Central Java (ANTARA) - Chief of the National Police (Polri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo inspected the readiness of the Valet and Ride program, prepared by the Central Java Regional Police, to support people embarking on Eid al-Fitr homecoming travel.

Speaking in Brebes District, Central Java Province, on Wednesday, he informed that under the program, travelers and their motorbikes will be transported free of charge on the route connecting Brebes with Semarang City, the capital of Central Java Province.

He added that the Central Java Police will mobilize buses to accommodate travelers and trucks to transport their two-wheeled vehicles.

He then commended the provincial police for initiating the Valet and Ride program, saying he believes that the initiative will provide convenience to those eager to take their motorbikes to their hometowns.

During his visit, the police chief also inspected the readiness of security measures, facilities, and logistics to ensure smooth homecoming travel in the region.

Meanwhile, Head of the Public Relations Division of the Central Java Police Senior Commissioner Artanto revealed that the Valet and Ride program will run for seven days—from March 24 to 30, 2025.

During the period, the police will manage the departures of buses and trucks at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. local time daily, he said.

He added that 9 buses and 6 trucks will ferry a total of 270 travelers and 114 two-wheeled vehicles per day.

"Three patrol cars will escort the departures of homecoming travelers every day," he informed.

Artanto further said that his office aims to transport 1,890 homecoming travelers under the program, which aligns with the 2025 Operation Ketupat that will be carried out by police officers and soldiers nationwide from March 23 to April 8.

"This operation will involve Polri officers, soldiers, and personnel from other institutions," he added.
