Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government will hand over 25 thousand housing units to individuals without fixed salaries by the end of April, Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait stated.

The minister explained that this program is aimed at informal workers, such as vegetable traders, meatball traders, and other small business operators, who earn an income but do not have formal pay slips.

"They do not have salaries but have businesses and income. Therefore, we have prepared around 25 thousand housing units for them, which will be handed over at the end of April,” Sirait stated here on Wednesday evening (March 19).

The handover ceremony is planned to take place on April 25, 2025, in various regions, including West Java, Central Java, South Sulawesi, South Sumatra, South Kalimantan, and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

During the ceremony, Sirait noted that the government is targeting to symbolically hand over at least one thousand housing units to beneficiaries.

Overall, he concluded that this program aims to deliver 29 thousand housing units in stages.
