Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's National Alms Agency (Baznas) aims to set up homecoming posts in 40 locations across regions to cater to the emergency needs of people traveling to their hometowns during the Eid al-Fitr season.

The posts will be available in the provinces of Banten, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Lampung, South Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, and Central Sulawesi.

"We want to provide support for homecoming travelers so they can have a safe and comfortable journey," Baznas Head Noor Achmad noted in the agency's statement cited here on Saturday.

Achmad said these homecoming posts are expected to facilitate Baznas in reaching and assisting travelers, especially in the event of an emergency situation.

The official then highlighted that the homecoming posts would offer a variety of free conveniences, such as a resting spot, drinking water, snacks, mobile phone charging stations, massages, and tire repairs.

The agency head added that specific posts will also offer free petrol, lactation rooms, and child-friendly rooms.

Furthermore, the Baznas leader revealed that his agency would also station officers to serve people keen to pay obligatory Eid al-Fitr alms at the homecoming posts.

According to Achmad, Baznas has readied 300 personnel, including those to be stationed at the homecoming posts that will be operating throughout the homecoming and reverse flow periods from March 26 to April 7.

Achmad noted that the personnel include medics, humanitarian staff, and crew members from Baznas' Disaster Response Unit (BTB).

He also said that 14 BTB teams would be placed on standby in 14 provinces to ensure optimal humanitarian services during the homecoming season.

The Baznas head emphasized that all these initiatives aim to facilitate the journey of people traveling homebound to reunite with their families in the name of God.
