Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk has confirmed that the road access to WIKA Beton Port in South Lampung is now fully operational as of last week. The improvement of the access road to the port, carried out in collaboration with ASDP, aims to enhance comfort and convenience for travelers commuting from WIKA Beton Port to the Trans-Sumatra Eastern Highway. This development forms part of the company's commitment to supporting the smooth flow of the 2025 Eid homecoming season.

Beyond improving the road infrastructure, WIKA Beton has also worked closely with various stakeholders to enhance port-related facilities, ensuring the safety and convenience of travelers. These efforts include the provision of waiting tents and portable toilets for public use, the installation of CCTV surveillance systems for real-time monitoring, improved road lighting to ensure optimal visibility at night, the placement of clear traffic signs and road markings, as well as the establishment of an Integrated Security Post in coordination with local authorities.

Yushadi, Corporate Secretary of WIKA Beton, stated that the expansion of these supporting facilities is a reflection of the company's dedication to creating a homecoming experience that prioritizes both safety and comfort, supported by effective spatial organization. “We understand that a safe and smooth journey is a top priority for homebound travelers. That is why we have ensured that all access facilities at WIKA Beton Port are prepared to the highest standards,” he said.

Operations at WIKA Beton Port officially began today, 24 March, ahead of the previously scheduled opening date of 26 March 2025. The early activation of the port comes as a response to rising traffic congestion at Merak Port, which has occurred earlier than anticipated. Today, the port welcomed the docking of ferry KMP Royce 1, which transported 288 passengers, 215 two-wheeled vehicles, 14 light to medium-sized trucks, and 24 heavy trucks.

WIKA Beton continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the smooth execution of the Eid homecoming season in Indonesia, serving as tangible proof of its dedication to the nation. With thorough preparations now in place, travelers can look forward to a safer, more efficient, and more enjoyable journey during the peak travel season.
