Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria stated that the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) for network monitoring can optimize the quality of cellular operator services during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

“An AI-based monitoring allows for more stable and faster network services. Customers can enjoy reliable connectivity from five days before to seven days after Eid,” he noted in a press statement here on Wednesday.

Patria indicated that one of the country's cellular operators, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH), has already implemented this technology to ensure optimal service quality monitoring.

The company employs AI within its Digital Intelligence Operations Center (DIOC) to monitor and optimize network service quality along the over eight thousand-kilometer homecoming routes.

This form of technology is also applied at strategic points such as ports, stations, and major homecoming routes.

He described AI utilization as one of the initiatives that can serve as a benchmark for other telecommunications providers in developing digital infrastructure and the telecommunications ecosystem in Indonesia.

“Indosat demonstrates agility in adopting AI technology and collaborating with global technology partners. This can strengthen the national digital ecosystem,” he stated.

Deputy Minister Patria emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and telecommunications providers to ensure the quality of telecommunications services in the country during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

All cellular operators are establishing joint posts along the homecoming routes with the ministry, while some operators are utilizing technology to optimize service quality monitoring.

“The ministry lauds Indosat's contribution to the success of the 'Calm and Enjoyable Homecoming' program. We hope this collaboration continues for other important agendas,” he stated.
