"Oh yes, for sure, it will certainly be discussed in Commission III," Habiburokhman stated at the parliament complex here on Thursday.
He made this remark following reports that House leaders had received a presidential letter on Tuesday (March 25) regarding the appointment of government representatives to discuss the RUU KUHAP.
"Yes, as Mrs. Puan (House Speaker Puan Maharani) said, procedurally, the kick-off (initial stage of the bill discussion) will be completed at the beginning of the next session. Hence, it is already fixed that the discussion will be in Commission III," he remarked.
The legislator explained that his side had coordinated with House Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad regarding the certainty of discussing the bill with the government in Commission III.
"I have coordinated with Mr. Ahmad, and it (the bill) is fixed (to be discussed) in Commission III," he remarked.
Commission III is responsible for matters related to the formation of laws and budget monitoring in the law enforcement and legal sector.
Additionally, he highlighted that the RUU KUHAP is an "unusual" bill in a positive sense, as public inputs had been gathered long before the House's official work meeting with the government began.
"We will continue that process of absorbing public aspirations. This seems to be the most 'unusual' law. Why? Because the absorption of public aspirations happened well before the kick-off of the work meeting in order to maximize the outcome," he affirmed.
