Speaking at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday, he noted that Baznas' programs are part of efforts to prepare a strong generation in view of the demographic dividend and the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
According to Achmad, the Asta Cita missions of President Prabowo involve all parties to create equal opportunities and improve the quality of life of poor, rural, and vulnerable communities.
He said that the Free Nutritious Meals program that is currently being run by the government is a strategic step to create a strong generation, both in terms of physical and mental capabilities.
He underlined that Baznas' programs are being aligned with this policy.
He further said that his agency is collaborating with several ministries. One of the latest initiatives is a program to send two thousand interns and workers to Japan every year.
"God willing, we are ready to send two thousand people to Japan every year, funded by Baznas. This is also part of preparing a strong future generation," he informed.
On Thursday, President Prabowo, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and members of the Red and White Cabinet gave zakat (alms) through Baznas at the State Palace.
On that occasion, Achmad said that for this year, the national zakat collection potential is pegged at Rp327 trillion (around US$19.7 billion). However, the agency has so far collected just Rp41 trillion (around US$2.47 billion).
He affirmed that the number of zakat-givers increased from 10 million in 2021 to 28.1 million in 2024.
