Baznas intends to provide one sack of rice per eligible family, aiming to support approximately 675 thousand beneficiaries on an assumption of four members per household.
As cited in Baznas' statement on Tuesday, Saidah Sakwan, head of the agency's Distribution and Utilization Division, emphasized that her team is committed to ensuring that all the funds and assets collected from almsgivers are delivered to deserving beneficiaries in good condition.
She emphasized that Zakat al-Fitr is not only a religious obligation for every able Muslim but also an expression of social care and solidarity nurtured among believers.
"Baznas has classified our targeted beneficiaries of Zakat al-Fitr into several categories, including educators and preachers; micro, small, and medium enterprises; persons with disabilities; and extremely poor families," Sakwan added.
In carrying out its Zakat al-Fitr mission this year, she remarked that Baznas would collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including its regional offices, farmers registered under its Social Barn program, and the state-run logistics company Bulog.

She explained that this collaborative approach is essential for the philanthropic agency to procure sufficient quantities of premium-grade rice and ensure its nationwide distribution to the beneficiaries.
The official also highlighted that this year, Baznas has set the amount of Zakat al-Fitr at Rp47 thousand (US$2.83), which is equivalent to the value of premium-grade rice weighing between 2.5 kilograms and 3.5 kilograms for every able Muslim in the Greater Jakarta region.
"As for Muslims residing outside the Greater Jakarta region, they can adjust the amount of alms they need to pay based on the price of the rice they consume daily," she elaborated.
In light of this, Sakwan appealed to the people to give their alms early so that Baznas could reach those in need sooner.
She added that those eager to fulfill their alms obligations could directly visit a Baznas office or simply access designated digital channels.
