Jakarta (ANTARA) - Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian confirmed that the government has ensured smooth homecoming flow and affordable food prices during the 2025 Eid al-Fitr holiday period.

Speaking to the media before performing his Eid prayer at Jakarta's Istiqlal Mosque on Monday, Karnavian spoke of monitoring the homecoming flow on Sunday evening (March 30) alongside other ministers and agency heads.

"Praise be to God, the homecoming traffic is smooth, and all food prices are under control," the minister stated.

The minister emphasized that no significant incidents required attention during the Eid holiday period and noted the absence of major accidents during the same period.

Nonetheless, the government has issued weather-related warnings for some regions following the weather forecast issued by the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) on March 31.

"According to BMKG, rain and high tides, for instance, in North Maluku, were predicted to occur today. We ask the people to remain cautious," Karnavian remarked.

The minister also assured officers would be stationed in vital areas, including tourist attractions, which are expected to see an influx of visitors.

Meanwhile, Karnavian stated that, in addition to participating in the Eid prayer at the Istiqlal Mosque, his agenda on Monday also includes attending President Prabowo Subianto's open house at the Presidential Palace.

In addition to the home minister, President Prabowo, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and several other cabinet ministers performed their Eid prayers at the Istiqlal Mosque.

Indonesian Muslims celebrated the Eid al-Fitr on 1 Shawwal 1446 Hijri on Monday (March 31), as announced by Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar on Saturday (March 29).
