Jakarta (ANTARA) - Ragunan Zoo in South Jakarta emerged as one of the favored tourist destinations in Jakarta on the second day of the Eid al-Fitr holiday, easily accessible via public transportation like TransJakarta buses.

Imas, a resident of Rawa Selatan, Central Jakarta, opted for the TransJakarta route 6B Ragunan - Balai Kota (City Hall) via Semanggi. Traveling with his family members, he boarded the bus from the City Hall stop.

Imas' primary motivation was cost-effectiveness, as renting a vehicle proved significantly more expensive than purchasing individual TransJakarta tickets.

"I (prefer) this Rp400 thousand to renting a minibus. Hence, we decided to buy the Transjakarta tickets one by one. It is definitely more affordable," he stated here on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, at around 11:30 a.m. local time, traffic flow from City Hall to Ragunan Zoo remained relatively smooth, allowing Imas to complete the bus journey in about an hour.

The bus journey only started to slow down slightly after passing the Simpang Ragunan Stop, with the final about 20-minute stretch to the Ragunan Stop attributed to the high volume of two- and four-wheeled vehicles heading toward the zoo entrance.

In addition to route 6B, the public heading to Ragunan could also use bus routes 6 Ragunan-Galunggung (24 hours), 6A Ragunan-City Hall via Kuningan, 6V Ragunan-Senayan DKI Bank, 5N Ragunan-Kampung Melayu, 6N Ragunan-Blok M via Kemang, and 7E Kampung Rambutan-Ragunan.

To facilitate passengers heading to tourist spots, including Ragunan, TransJakarta has expanded its bus operations.

"There is a 20 percent increase in bus operations for tourist routes to accommodate customers who are on holiday during Eid in Jakarta and to make their experience using TransJakarta more comfortable," Head of the Public Relations and CSR Department of Transjakarta Ayu Wardhani stated.
