The discounts will apply to various categories of passenger vehicles.
The discount policy for Bakauheni-Merak crossing will be valid from noon local time on April 3, 2025, to noon local time on April 7.
ASDP corporate secretary Shelvy Arifin informed in a statement issued on Tuesday that the policy is expected to accommodate people returning to Java Island after celebrating Eid in their hometowns.
"With this policy, travelers are encouraged to plan their return trips in advance and take advantage of the discount period to avoid long queues during the peak of the return flow," she explained.
Arifin also urged passengers to comply with the applicable provisions, make ticket reservations through the Ferizy application, and arrive at the port according to the departure schedule.
Based on data from PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, during the period from D-10 of Eid to Eid day (March 21–31), a total of 225,400 vehicles crossed from Java to Sumatra via the ports of Merak, Ciwandan, and BBJ Bojonegara.
This reflects a slight decrease of 0.4 percent compared to 226,299 vehicles the previous year.
Meanwhile, the total number of passengers increased by 3 percent, reaching 885,828 in 2025, compared to 859,699 in 2024.
Earlier, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi called for proper return flow management from Bakauheni Port to Merak Port, similar to the homecoming flow from Merak to Bakauheni.
He emphasized that successful management of the homecoming flow at Merak Port could serve as a model for regulating the return flow, ensuring it is safe and comfortable.
