"We recorded 376,871 people, or an increase of 24 percent compared to the same period last year of 303,637 people," ASDP corporate secretary, Shelvy Arifin, informed in a statement released on Thursday.
The Merak Eid Transportation Post informed that 50 ships operated on D-5 Eid, or March 26, 2025.
The total realization of passengers crossing from Java to Sumatra on D-5 reached 99,584, an increase of 5 percent compared to 95,136 during the same period last year.
The number of two-wheeled vehicles crossing from Merak Port on D-5 of Eid reached 5,704 units, an increase of 24 percent compared to 4,600 units last year.
Meanwhile, the number of four-wheeled vehicles reached 12,771 units, a decline of 3 percent compared to 13,168 units in the year-ago period.
In addition, the total number of trucks crossing from Java to Sumatra reached 2,447 units, an increase of 14 percent from 2,141 units during the corresponding period last year.
Meanwhile, the total number of buses crossing to Sumatra reached 643 units, up 28 percent compared to 503 units during the same period last year.
The total number of vehicles crossing from Java to Sumatra was recorded at 21,565 units on D-5 of Eid, up 6 percent from 20,412 units during the same period last year.
In addition, Arifin said that ASDP will accommodate passengers arriving late due to traffic, both at Merak and Ciwandan Ports. Their tickets will not be forfeited, she added.
Late passengers will be directed by ASDP officers to the next departure so that they can rejoin the queue for an estimated time of around 1 hour.
