This program, led by the Ministry of Transportation, is a manifestation of the government’s commitment to supporting a smooth exodus flow ahead of the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
Deputy Minister of PANRB Purwadi Arianto commended the successful implementation of the free homecoming program, which has been repeatedly executed by the government.
"The government is present to assist in the pubic homecoming activities," Arianto noted in a statement.
This year's free homecoming program accommodates 21,536 travelers, utilizing 520 buses for land transportation, along with sea and rail routes.
This initiative aims to offer a safe, comfortable, and cost-effective transportation alternative for those keen on celebrating Eid al-Fitr in their hometowns.
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety while traveling home.
"I want to convey to the travelers, especially vehicle drivers, to be careful on the road. Pay attention to your speed and traffic safety," he emphasized.
He expressed hope that travelers would arrive safely at their destinations and celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families.
The government ensures that public services related to the free homecoming program are running well through strict oversight from various related agencies.
"I am here to check and ensure that the public services are monitored and overseen and are functioning properly. The government, with its good public services, has carried out its duties to the best of its ability, so that the benefits can be directly felt by the community," Arianto stated.
The send-off event for the free homecoming program included a vehicle ramp check and prayers for safe departures.
