Speaking to the media after attending an Eid al-Fitr gathering hosted by Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Roeslani in Jakarta on Tuesday (April 1) night, he highlighted that reporters would obtain access to one thousand affordable residences.
He then noted that the government had also allocated a quota of 20 thousand homes each to fishermen, laborers, and Indonesian migrant workers.
Additionally, Roeslani remarked that 30 thousand subsidized residences will be available to health workers, 14,500 to police officers, and around five thousand to soldiers of the Indonesian Army (TNI-AD).
Sirait then revealed his plan to hold discussions with representatives of the mentioned professions to further elaborate on the subsidized home program, under which the government aims to build affordable residences across Indonesia.

He stated that the government had decided to ease the minimum reserve requirement (GWM) for the purchase of subsidized and non-subsidized homes, reducing it from five percent to four percent. This decision has been approved by President Prabowo Subianto, among others.
Furthermore, the minister said President Prabowo had called for ensuring that subsidized homes are of high quality and accessible exclusively to those who deserve them.
In this regard, he emphasized the importance of stakeholders assigned to execute the housing program to refer to data compiled by Statistics Indonesia (BPS) on residents eligible to access affordable homes.
"There should be no subsidized homes accessible to the undeserving, and we cannot afford to offer such homes with low quality," he affirmed.
