The MoU was inked by PCO Head Hasan Nasbi and Turkey's Director of Communications, Fahrettin Altun, and witnessed by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
As quoted from the PCO statement on Friday, PCO Head Nasbi emphasized that the agreement symbolizes the strong ties between the two nations and a joint commitment to collaborate in facing increasingly complex communication challenges.
"This is not just a cooperation on paper but a concrete implementation of how two major countries with a long history collaborate to strengthen transparent, strategic, and adaptive public communication," he affirmed.
He highlighted that the cooperation encompasses areas such as technology transfer in the media field and crisis management training, which will directly contribute to strengthening Indonesia's public communication capabilities.
As a follow-up to the MoU, Nasbi revealed plans for staff exchanges between the PCO and the Turkish Communication Directorate.
Additionally, the PCO staff will have the opportunity to participate in knowledge transfer and share insights, experiences, and best practices.
“We are not only sharing experiences and skills but also strengthening the positive narrative about both countries on the international stage. This MoU serves as a strong foundation for building public communication that is more strategic, adaptive, and responsive to global dynamics,” he stated.
Nasbi remarked that the MoU is valid for three years and can be extended for another two years.
"The MoU signing marks an important milestone in Indonesia's communication diplomacy, opening wider opportunities for international cooperation in an increasingly important field during the current digital era," he noted.
