The King shares his commendation during a meeting between the Jordanian and Indonesian delegations, co-chaired by himself and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at Al Husseiniya Palace in Amman, Jordan, on Monday (April 14).
"I am truly convinced that under your leadership, Indonesia will play an important role for all of us in addressing various issues," the King told the President, as quoted from a statement issued by Prabowo's secretariat in Jakarta.
President Prabowo expressed appreciation for the monarch's warm welcome, acknowledging the enduring and harmonious ties between Indonesia and Jordan.
He emphasized that both nations view each other as trustworthy partners, particularly in addressing the prolonged conflict in Gaza, Palestine.
"We (Indonesia and Jordan) are two countries that remain at the forefront in the fight for the rights of the Palestinian people," the President stated.
He reiterated Indonesia's commitment to persistently striving for Palestinian independence.
"Indonesia is very serious in advocating for the right of the Palestinian people to live in an independent state," he stressed.
In this context, Prabowo underscored the importance of pursuing peaceful, fair, and balanced solutions in the region.
The President visited Jordan as the final stop of his five-nation Middle East diplomatic tour, which began on April 9, with visits to the United Arab Emirates, followed by Türkiye, Egypt, and Qatar, where he was hosted by their respective heads of state.
One of the key missions of the tour was to seek support from these countries for his government's plan to evacuate one thousand Palestinians from Gaza for medical treatment in Indonesia.
