"These horses, hailing from western to eastern Indonesia, vied for a total prize pool of nearly Rp1 billion across 18 classes, including a special class for the Pertiwi Cup 2025," said Aryo Djojohadikusumo, Chair of the Indonesian Equestrian Sports Association (PP Pordasi), on Sunday.
He stated that the participating horses came from 13 regions across Indonesia, including North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Bali, Central Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, and East Nusa Tenggara.
Among the 18 classes, the three most prestigious categories with the highest prize money were: the Open Class (2,000 meters) with a total prize of Rp70 million; the 3-Year-Old Derby Class (1,200 meters), the first leg of the Triple Crown Series I, with a total prize of Rp200 million; and the 3-Year-Old Filly Class (1,600 meters) competing for the Pertiwi Cup, also with a total prize of Rp200 million.
"From a technical standpoint regarding the track and the readiness of the participants, we believe this horse championship provided safe and fair races for all participating horses and athletes," Djojohadikusumo affirmed.
The Indonesia's Horse Racing Triple Crown Series 1 and Pertiwi Cup 2025 marked the second national championship organized by SARGA.CO, an Indonesian horse sports event promoter, in collaboration with PP Pordasi.
The championship's theme was "The Race of Rising Stars."
