Metro City, Lampung (ANTARA) - Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti introduced the seven habits of Great Indonesian Children in Metro City, Lampung, as a fundamental framework for nurturing a quality future generation.

"I emphasize the importance of character development and positive habits from an early age," Mu'ti stated while inaugurating the 2025 Teacher and Student Festival at Tejosari Stadium here on Saturday.

He also highlighted the movement of the seven habits of Great Indonesian Children, which includes community involvement, where children should also be educated to engage more with society.

He elaborated that this initiative seeks to foster children's understanding of the values of mutual cooperation, tolerance, equality, and responsibility towards the environment.

"In addition, other habits include going to bed early and exercising. Do not become a 'nocturnal person' who hangs out at night and sleeps in the morning. Also, exercising helps children create a healthier and more beneficial lifestyle," he explained.

Another good habit is eating healthy and nutritious food, which is essential for meeting children's balanced nutritional needs.

"What children eat influences who they become. That is why President Prabowo Subianto initiated the free nutritious meal (MBG) program," he remarked.

Finally, he emphasized the importance of cultivating a love for learning among children.

"Be someone who loves knowledge because the world is ruled by those with knowledge. There is a saying that with knowledge, everything becomes easier; with art, everything becomes beautiful; and with religion, everything becomes a blessing," he explained.

Mu’ti also lauded the strategic programs implemented by the Metro City Government, especially for the transformation into a smart city in the field of education.
