Jakarta (ANTARA) - Presidential Communication Office (PCO) Head Hasan Nasbi resumed his duties as the agency head on Tuesday following President Prabowo Subianto's instruction to return to the role.

"I was instructed so far to continue leading PCO. As of today, I am working again at PCO," Nasbi told reporters.

In compliance with the president's directive, Nasbi returned to the PCO head office on the 14th floor of the National Scout Movement (Pramuka) Headquarters in Central Jakarta.

The PCO chief declined to answer questions about whether the president had rejected his resignation, instead directing reporters to State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi for clarification.

After serving as the PCO head since August 19, 2024, during the presidential transition, Nasbi tendered his resignation in a written statement, dated April 21, 2025, which he publicly announced on April 29.

"It is time to stay away from the field and sit as a spectator to give the chance for a better figure to lead the agency," Nasbi stated while announcing his resignation.

However, Nasbi attended the plenary cabinet meeting headed by President Prabowo on Monday (May 5), where the president also greeted him before the meeting.

Nasbi, wearing the same uniform as other cabinet members, was seated between Population and Family Planning Minister Wihaji and Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq.

State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi had also indicated on April 30 that President Prabowo might "not accept" Nasbi's resignation from the Presidential Communication Office.

"Perhaps (the president) might not approve Hasan Nasbi's resignation. We better wait for the president's final decision," Hadi stated after meeting workers' union representatives.
