According to Yusuf Permana, deputy for protocol, press, and media in the Presidential Secretariat, the president is scheduled to receive the award from the sultan in a ceremony at the Nurul Iman Palace in Bandar Seri Begawan.
"The state decoration of Brunei Darussalam is bestowed by the Brunei Sultan as their utmost respect to heads of state and global leaders deemed to have contributed to advancing bilateral relations with Brunei Darussalam," Permana stated.
Departing from Jakarta's Halim Perdanakusuma Airfield at 7 a.m. Jakarta time, the president arrived in Bandar Seri Begawan at 10:20 a.m. local time.
During the visit, the president and the sultan will preside over the bilateral meeting between the government delegation of the two countries. After the state decoration bestowal ceremony, Prabowo and Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah will attend a state banquet.
Permana remarked that the bilateral meeting is expected to open new opportunities for cooperation in strategic sectors as Indonesia-Brunei relations enter their fourth decade.
Cabinet ministers who joined the president's entourage to Brunei Darussalam were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar, and Foreign Minister Sugiono.
Migrant Workers Protection Minister Abdul Kadir Karding and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya were also part of the delegation for the state visit, which is scheduled to conclude by Wednesday evening.
