Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has expressed confidence that Indonesia can emerge as an energy supplier for countries across the world, given its significant potential and unexplored energy reserves.

Speaking at the 49th Indonesian Petroleum Association Convention and Exhibition (IPA Convex) in Tangerang, Banten, on Wednesday, he called for collaboration between the government, private parties, and state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to boost oil and gas production in the country.

"We are very optimistic that we will not only achieve energy self-sufficiency soon, but also supply energy to the world again," he said.

The President underscored that Indonesia's energy reserves are very large, with dozens of oil and gas blocks ready to be offered to domestic and foreign business players.

He then called for creating regulations and a system of bureaucracy that does not complicate investment and business.

On the same occasion, he said that the Indonesian Investment Management Agency, Danantara, is ready to invest in strategic projects in the oil and gas sector.

"I encourage all parties from inside the country and abroad to use the opportunities that we offer, and we have also prepared a large investment fund," he added.

IPA Convex is an annual event organized by the Indonesian Petroleum Association. This year, the event is being held from May 20 to 22 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD, Tangerang, Banten.

Delegates from 60 countries, who are engaged in various sectors related to energy, are expected to join the event, besides CEOs of the world's leading energy companies and the ambassadors of several countries, including Egypt and Malaysia.
