Jakarta (ANTARA) - Foreign Minister Sugiono and the Romanian Ambassador to Indonesia, Dan Adrian Balanescu, have explored strategic cooperation in agricultural trade, particularly in food products, between Indonesia and Romania.

During a meeting with Ambassador Balanescu on Wednesday, Minister Sugiono emphasized the considerable potential for increasing Indonesia’s exports of leading products, such as palm oil and paper, to Romania.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both parties also agreed to strengthen sociocultural cooperation initiatives, including university partnerships, to enhance people-to-people ties between Indonesia and Romania.

The two also discussed efforts to increase the dispatch of Indonesian migrant workers to meet Romania’s labor needs in the hospitality sector.

As part of defense cooperation, Romanian defense companies are set to participate in the Indo Defence Expo & Forum, scheduled to take place from June 11 to 14, 2025, in Jakarta.
