Yusuf Permana, the secretariat’s deputy for protocols, press, and media, stated that PM Li’s visit would continue through Monday, May 26.
He affirmed that President Prabowo Subianto is expected to greet the Chinese leader with an official welcome ceremony at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Sunday (May 25) at around 10 a.m. local time.
Following the ceremonial gesture, the two leaders will hold a bilateral meeting accompanied by officials from their respective countries.
“This upcoming meeting reflects the two nations’ shared commitment to strengthening and advancing their bilateral ties and cooperation in various strategic areas,” Permana affirmed.
At the conclusion of the agenda, President Prabowo plans to host Prime Minister Li for a state luncheon.
PM Li’s visit to Indonesia was first announced by Chinese Foreign Affairs Minister Wang Yi on April 22 and later confirmed by Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono on May 15.
The forthcoming visit reportedly follows an invitation from President Prabowo, who previously met PM Li in Beijing in November of last year.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry of China stated that the visit is expected to strengthen China-Indonesia solidarity in various fields.
Mao Ning, the ministry's spokesperson, remarked on Thursday (May 22) that China hopes its prime minister's visit will lead to enhanced ties with Indonesia, especially in political, economic, people-to-people, cultural, maritime, and security cooperation.
"China and Indonesia are expected to jointly move forward toward modernization on their respective paths, enrich the China-Indonesia community with a shared future, and make greater contributions to regional and global peace, stability, development, and prosperity," she stated.
