According to an official statement cited here on Friday, this ceremonial gesture followed Prabowo and Macron's activities at Borobudur Temple in Magelang, Central Java Province, earlier that day.
President Macron and his entourage departed from Yogyakarta International Airport in Indonesia to continue his Southeast Asia diplomatic tour, following his previous visit to Vietnam.
Accompanied by his son, Didit Hediprasetyo, President Prabowo escorted his French counterpart and the First Lady to the aircraft steps, demonstrating the mutual respect and friendship between their nations.
Also present at the send-off were Indonesian Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono, State Secretary Minister Hadi Prasetyo, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Yogyakarta Deputy Governor Paku Alam X.
Guards of honor also lined the airport apron on the occasion.

After sending off his French counterpart, President Prabowo proceeded to return to Jakarta.
President Macron and his wife departed Indonesia after a three-day official visit that began on Tuesday (May 27) night.
In Indonesia, the French leader joined President Prabowo in a series of key engagements, including a welcome ceremony, a one-on-one meeting, a bilateral meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, a visit to the Military Academy in Magelang, and a visit to Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist temple.
Macron's visit resulted in a range of bilateral cooperation agreements across various sectors, including economy, defense, culture, tourism, human development, and environmental sustainability.
In addition to solidifying the bilateral strategic partnership, this visit reaffirmed that Indonesia and France enjoy harmonious ties founded on cordiality and mutual respect between their leaders.
