Palu (ANTARA) - The Central Sulawesi government said a sacrificial cow for Eid al-Adha 1446H from President Prabowo Subianto was distributed to survivors of the 2018 earthquake, tsunami, and liquefaction, who are currently living in Talise village, Palu city.

Governor Anwar Hafid directly handed over one of the President's cows to the Nurul Yaqin Mosque to be slaughtered before distributed to underprivileged residents who remain affected by the Palu disaster.

Hafid on Saturday explained that Talise village was picked as one of the locations for the distribution of the sacrificial meat since it is still home to hundreds of survivors of the 2018 disaster who have not received permanent housing.

According to Hafid, around 100 families still live in temporary housing.

"This is a form of attention from President Prabowo Subianto, so that the people in Central Sulawesi can also feel the happiness of Eid al-Adha. Alhamdulillah, this year we received two sacrificial cows from the president," he said.

One sacrificial cow donated by the president was a Simmental crossbreed weighing 1,040 kilograms and named Baron.

The other was an Ongole crossbreed (PO) weighing 812 kilograms. It was slaughtered at the Asybaahul Khairat in Kabonena village, Ulujadi district, and was intended for the surrounding community and religious teachers and honorary teachers of the Alkhairat Islamic Boarding School.

He expressed the hope that the sacrificial meat would be received by the intended recipients, so that Eid al-Adha also brings them cheer.
