"I have instructed the relevant ministries in Indonesia to open all airports to direct foreign airline connections to our airports,” he noted in a joint press statement with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong following the Leaders' Retreat at the Parliament House, Singapore, Monday.
The president stated that Indonesia is committed to increasing the intensity of flights as before the COVID-19 pandemic, with even more flights planned.
On the other hand, Prabowo emphasized that air safety infrastructure and mechanisms are being improved alongside the opening of airports for direct flights from Singapore.

"However, in principle, I want to see easier and faster access to our airports,” Prabowo noted.
In his remarks, Prabowo expressed gratitude for the warm reception from the Singaporean government and congratulated Lawrence Wong on his re-election as prime minister.
The president also recalled his closeness to Singapore since his childhood era and emphasized the strong personal and historical ties between Indonesian and Singaporean leaders.
In November 2024, Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines agreed to increase the number of flights between Jakarta and Singapore, according to The Straits Times.
Starting December 1, 2024, Garuda increased its flights between the two cities from four to six, while Singapore Airlines operated eight flights to the Indonesian capital—up from six flights.
