According to Hartarto, the two countries have great potential to step up economic collaboration, especially within the framework of the Six Bilateral Working Groups (6WG) in the fields of agriculture, energy, and investment.
He also highlighted cooperation in food technology and the Young Farmer program as important instruments for bolstering food security in both countries.
The meeting also touched on the clean energy issue, with the two countries agreeing that the development of clean energy must focus on cross-border electricity interconnection projects, construction of submarine cables, and renewable energy infrastructure.
In addition, Minister Yong conveyed Singapore’s full support for Indonesia joining the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
He said the step is in line with Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening a fair and transparent multilateral trade system.
“Indonesia and Singapore have been strategic economic partners for a long time. Amid turmoil in the global situation, solid cooperation is key to maintaining growth and stability,” Hartarto said.
The meeting also discussed new initiatives such as clean energy financing cooperation, data center development, and digital-based logistics integration to support trade efficiency between the two countries.
