Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to open the 9th Jakarta Geopolitical Forum (JGF) on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, according to the Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas), Ace Hasan Syadzily.

“It is planned that the President will deliver a directive and keynote speech at the Jakarta Geopolitical Forum, and at the same time officially inaugurate the event,” Syadzily said during a press conference here on Monday.

This year’s JGF carries the theme of economic fragmentation and energy resilience, which aligns with one of President Prabowo’s Astacita missions: strengthening energy security.

Syadzily noted that the theme is particularly relevant given the current global geopolitical volatility and uncertainty.

He emphasized that energy resilience must be addressed with viable solutions amid these dynamic challenges.

The academic forum is expected to generate strategic recommendations and intellectual input to support the government in enhancing Indonesia’s energy resilience.

The two-day event, running from June 24 to 25, will bring together policymakers, academics, business leaders, and think tank representatives.

It will feature four thematic sessions covering topics such as industrial downstream development, industrialization, and energy resilience in the face of global geopolitical shifts.

Discussions will also explore adaptive strategies for implementing renewable energy to safeguard both economic and energy security at regional and national levels.

The forum is expected to host around 1,000 participants from countries including Australia, Cambodia, Chile, China, Ecuador, Egypt, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam.
