The minister made the statement during the regional heads' orientation event in Jatinangor, Sumedang District, West Java, on Wednesday.
"We all know that what makes a country advanced is its human resources. A country with a high gross domestic product is one with a high human development index," he underlined in an official statement in Jakarta.
Pratikno further encouraged efforts to develop excellent and resilient human resources by seizing opportunities from the demographic dividend era to realize economic growth goals.
"To realize excellent and resilient Indonesian human resources, there are several key aspects that must be a shared concern, with the first, being physically, mentally, and morally healthy," he remarked.
Furthermore, he said the second crucial aspect is that human resources must possess high competency, while the third vital facet is that they must remain relevant to current developments and contribute to the community.
The minister also stressed the importance of embracing technology by adopting wise and smart digital programs and utilizing artificial intelligence (AI), especially as the number of internet users in Indonesia continues to rise.
However, he cautioned that in utilizing technology, people must remain wise and critical to prevent the erosion of ideology and culture in daily life.
"This has high potential to improve our productivity in learning and creating policies. We are highly determined to issue guidelines for the general public on utilizing artificial intelligence," he remarked.
