According to the company's written statement, Thursday, some 10,014,707 passengers were safely transported on 29,786 Whoosh trips from October 17, 2023, to June 25, 2025.
"This achievement reflected the public's strong enthusiasm for Whoosh high-speed train services," KCIC corporate secretary general manager Eva Chairunisa stated while highlighting the achievement as "a new milestone in Indonesia's railway history."
The company official stated that the milestone was reached through continuous service improvements and collaboration with public transportation stakeholders to improve access to Whoosh stations.
The transfer of knowledge and technology between Chinese experts and their Indonesian peers has also progressed smoothly, and the Whoosh high-speed train is now fully operated by Indonesian human resources.
Regarding sustainability, research by experts at the University of Indonesia found that the Whoosh train emits only 6.9 grams of carbon dioxide per passenger kilometer compared to 12.7 grams from private vehicles.

Whoosh has also helped reduce losses from traffic accidents by Rp2.91 billion annually, according to Chairunisa.
"The 10-million passenger milestone is not a mere number but is a real symbol of the nation's progress in presenting a modern, environmentally-friendly, and high-standard transportation system," the company official stated.
"The system proves that Indonesia is capable of achieving another transformation in the transportation system to improve public connectivity and mobility," she stated.
The development of the Whoosh high-speed railway system began in 2015 through an Indonesia-China consortium, with the construction starting in 2016.
After operational trials, Whoosh started serving the public in October 2023, making Indonesia the first country in Southeast Asia and the Southern Hemisphere to operate a high-speed railway system.
