Jakarta (ANTARA) - Manpower Minister Yassierli has said that the government will soon launch the National Productivity Agency (LPN) that will be tasked with increasing labor absorption.

He informed that the plan to establish the LPN is in keeping with Presidential Regulation Number 1 of 2023 regarding Increasing National Productivity and Competitiveness.

“We will launch (LPN). We will involve many parties, such as institutions,” he added at the Indef Mid-Year Review 2025 in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The minister said that the LPN will guide policies and provide recommendations to increase national productivity.

The members of the LPN will be drawn from eight ministries and include the secretary generals of the ministries and working teams from the private sector, industry, and education and community organizations.

Yassierli said that he will act as the steering committee chair for several teams at the agency.

“We will launch it soon. The human resources, the certification scheme, and the LPK (Job Training Institutions) are already at launching (stage),” he added.

However, he said that no target date has been set for the launch of the LPN yet. According to the minister, the decision on the launch will be taken once all the requirements for operating the agency are met.

Yassierli expressed the hope that the new institution would help prepare superior human resources who can be absorbed by the industry.

“When our industry’s productivity increases, of course, the industry will have more resilience. So that, it can be more competitive, and we also hope the industries and the company will grow,” he added.
