Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Ribka Haluk has urged all regional heads in Papua to promptly disburse Special Autonomy (Otsus) Funds and Additional Infrastructure Funds (DTI).

In the ministry's statement here on Wednesday, she asserted that if the funds remain unused by the third quarter of this year, she will personally visit the regional leaders to follow up on the matter.

Haluk's remarks follow a coordination meeting on expediting the first-phase disbursement of the 2025 Otsus and DTI Funds, held at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

"If by the third quarter this remains unrealized, I will visit the regions," she stated.

She emphasized that accelerating the disbursement of Otsus funds is a crucial part of the government’s commitment to promoting regional economic growth and improving public welfare.

“This is part of the efforts to accelerate economic growth and improve the people’s welfare under President Prabowo Subianto's administration. Therefore, quick actions in transforming governance and managing fund disbursement in Papua are needed,” she explained.

During the meeting attended by representatives from the Ministry of Finance and officials from local governments across Papua, Haluk said her side has identified the issues hindering the fund disbursement process.

“Thus, by next week, we can clearly identify the root of the problems, especially regarding the performance of local governments in realizing the disbursement of Otsus and DTI funds,” she remarked.

The deputy minister acknowledged that while some regions have made progress and started disbursing the funds, many have yet to meet the administrative requirements for disbursement, such as accountability reports, program budget plans (RAP), and other supporting documents.
