Lebak, Banten (ANTARA) - A joint search and rescue team has recovered the bodies of two local tourists who drowned after being swept away by strong currents while playing on Karangseke beach in Lebak district, Banten, on Sunday.

The tourists were identified as Syahrudin, 21, and Vera, 12, head of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), Banten Office, Al Amrad S, informed in Lebak district on Monday.

The third drowning victim, identified as Revi, 10, was rescued. All three are residents of Cinangrang hamlet of Jalupang village, Banjarsari sub-district, Lebak district, he added.

Syahrudin, Vera, and Revi were swept away by strong currents from Karangseke beach in Muara Binuangeun village, Wanasalam sub-district, Lebak district, on Sunday, he said.

The search mission ended after Syahrudin and Vera’s bodies were handed over to their family for burial, he added.
