Jakarta (ANTARA) - The creative industry is one of the key sectors that can contribute to the quality job creation Asta Cita goal set by President Prabowo Subianto, Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya has emphasized.

“The creative economy is an important instrument for achieving the economic growth target and job creation, especially for the younger generation, in accordance with the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision,” he said in an official statement released in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The minister underlined that there are challenges as well as great opportunities in the digital revolution for Golden Indonesia.

He said that the growth target will be achieved if Indonesia carries out a comprehensive transformation in three main aspects: social, economic, and governance.

He further said that transformation is key to improve the quality of human resources and encourage inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

For economic transformation, the government will focus on the downstreaming of natural resources, the green economy, and technology and innovation-based development.

“This emphasizes that digital economy and creative economy will be the main drivers of future growth,” the minister said.

He also highlighted that the growth and potential of the creative economy depend on the government’s support for imagination, trust in young talents, and ideas as a solution for creative works with added value.

He said the economic growth target of 8 percent is achievable if Indonesia manages to optimize all its potential and efforts, including sustainable innovation based on the creative economy.

According to Harsya, Indonesia needs more young technology engineers, designers, programmers, filmmakers, creative entrepreneurs, content creators, and other creative economy players who can open up jobs and support the nation’s culture.

“Creative talents are key to realizing economic development that is inclusive and sustainable so as to generate a positive impact for the national economy,” he said.
