She said that this year, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has issued a circular on the implementation of Friendly School Orientation from early childhood education to secondary education levels.
The circular emphasizes that school orientation activities are designed to strengthen character and develop excellent students by providing an introduction to the school community, environment, and curriculum.
“The circular also emphasizes that schools are required to disseminate information to parents regarding the schedule, objectives, prohibitions, and mechanisms for filing complaints,” she said.
Therefore, she asked schools to strictly adhere to the rules for improving the quality of the school orientation and make it transparent and friendly.
“School orientation is a momentum to introduce the values that will be applied during the learning process in the school,” she said.
Furthermore, Moerdijat urged stakeholders at the central and regional levels to comply with the policies on the implementation of the school orientation.
The MPR deputy speaker expressed the hope that the active participation of all parties would make this year’s school orientation better than its previous edition.
Earlier, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education had invited the community to actively monitor school orientation to ensure no violations occur during the process.
Head of the ministry’s Character Strengthening Center, Rusprita Putri Utami, said in Jakarta on Tuesday that the ministry has prepared sanctions, in keeping with applicable regulations and laws, for any violations during student orientation activities.
