In a statement received here on Friday, LPSK Deputy Chairperson Sri Suparyati encouraged anyone with information about the case to submit their request to LPSK.
"As a state institution that protects witnesses and/or victims, LPSK must offer protection to the witness of a crime to clarify what truly happened. There are vast opportunities for those seeking to become justice collaborators to help uncover the truth," Suparyati remarked.
The deputy chairperson noted that her agency has already received several requests from those wanting to become justice collaborators. As of June 2025, some 11 people had submitted such requests, compared to four in 2024 and six in 2023, she added.
Her administration also proactively offers protection in certain criminal cases based on the Law on Witness and Victim Protection.
She noted that in some situations, no formal request is necessary.
In 2024, the agency's initiative covers around 154 cases, while in 2023, it covered some 83 cases, she stated.
Suparyati highlighted her administration's authority to collect information, including assessing threats and dangers, conducting medical or psychological examinations, and reviewing the criminal records of witnesses and victims. Moreover, they are authorized to review relevant statements and documents to verify the truth of submitted requests.
Brigadier MN, also known as Nurhadi, was found dead in a swimming pool at a villa in Gili Trawangan, North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, with suspicious injuries, on Wednesday, April 16, while accompanied by his superiors, Police Commissioner Y, and Second Police Inspector HC.
MN's family described his death as unnatural and suspicious. This prompted the police to launch an investigation and exhumed MN's body for further investigation.
According to the autopsy performed on the exhumed body, the police allege that MN was assaulted while unconscious in the villa's pool, sometime between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. local time.
West Nusa Tenggara Police named Y and HC as suspects, charging them with assault and negligence. Before being named suspects, both were discharged dishonorably after a hearing with the Police's Code of Ethics Commission.
Subsequently, a third suspect, identified as M, was named. She is believed to have been present at the scene when MN died.
Investigators determined that the victim and the three suspects were partying at the villa. One of the three unnamed suspects allegedly gave the victim something to consume.
