Jakarta (ANTARA) - Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), an educational institution under the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education, has outlined a number of conveniences and advantages of studying in Malaysia.

“We at EMGS really emphasize convenience for international students and will ensure the best service from the moment they arrive in Malaysia,” Novie Tajuddin, the CEO of EMGS, said at the launch of the Mega Ayo Kuliah di Malaysia education fair here on Saturday.

One of the conveniences is the immigration service offered by the International Student Arrival Center (ISAC), he informed.

EMGS representatives assist students with the immigration process at the ISAC at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

“EMGS representatives provide 24-hour services there to assist with the immigration process and ensure international students have the best possible experience,” he said.

Through the service, Malaysia is seeking to ensure that international students get the assistance they need while completing visa and immigration formalities.

“So, if you want to study in Malaysia, we will handle the visa process at EMGS, which collaborates with Immigration,” he added.

In addition, Tajuddin listed a number of benefits of studying in Malaysia, including the variety of study programs, affordable tuition fees, the widespread use of English in Malaysia, and its strategic location, especially for students from Indonesia.

Malaysia’s proximity to Indonesia makes it easier for Indonesian students to return to their homeland quickly and at a lower cost.

The cultural proximity between the two countries also provides more benefits for Indonesian students, for instance, the chance to enjoy Malaysian cuisine and culture.

“Malaysia and Indonesia also share many similarities, such as culture, food, and, of course, language. So, in Indonesia, it’s easy to adapt to Malaysia. So, if you’re missing tempeh, Malaysia has it too. Don’t worry,” Tajuddin added.

In addition, he spoke about the Graduate Pass initiative, under which Malaysia allows international students to stay on in the country for one year after graduation.

“This visa makes it easy for Indonesian students who have finished studying in Malaysia to work, vacation, and also continue their education to a higher level in Malaysia,” he added.
