Tangerang (ANTARA) - Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka visited a post office in Tangerang City, Banten, on Wednesday to observe the distribution of Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) funds and ensure the program reaches those who truly need it.

“The vice president is here to ensure the funds are distributed smoothly and in full accordance with the rules,” said Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer, who accompanied Gibran.

During the visit, Gibran directly oversaw the distribution process until beneficiaries received their assistance.

According to Ebenezer, Gibran also spoke with several recipients and asked how they planned to use the funds, as the government hopes the BSU program will help strengthen public purchasing power.

“The vice president appreciated the post office’s accessibility and took the opportunity to talk with residents. He expressed hope that the BSU will have a real impact,” Ebenezer added.

President Prabowo Subianto has launched an economic stimulus package worth Rp24.44 trillion (approximately US$1.5 billion) to boost purchasing power in the second quarter of the year. This includes BSU payments of Rp600,000 (around US$36) for 17.3 million workers nationwide.

To support the disbursement of BSU funds, the Ministry of Manpower has partnered with state-run postal company Pos Indonesia, enabling recipients to access their assistance through the Pospay app.

In addition to Pospay, the public can check their BSU eligibility through the websites of the Ministry of Manpower and the state-run worker insurance agency, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

Once verified, beneficiaries must provide valid personal information, including name, address, ID number, date of birth, phone number, and email, in the Pospay app, which will then issue a QR code for collecting the funds at post offices.
